A trip into town for a frozen food shopping fest. I have a thing about price of petrol at the moment, so Mrs G is encouraged to shop in bulk. When we dragged our supplies back to the car, I was delighted to see a Morris Traveller parked next to our ride. I got to thinking, its 2/3rds the size of our car, but ticks all the boxes....seats 4 in a degree of comfort, it's an estate car, so Alfie is catered for, it has a smaller engine, but adaquate power, good visibility all round. It is not stuffed with dubious engine management systems, electric windows, air conditionning, exploding steering wheel, dashboard luminance control etcetc. If it goes wrong, I strongly suspect a 13mm spanner, and a hammer is about all thats required to fix it.
Prehaps I am a fool, but is there not a market for something simple like this?
The reality is, it has more rust than the titanic, rot on the wooden rear frame, and from distant memory, was not that easy to work on.
Oh well, back to the Vauxhall .....
